| Safe Termination Policies: Violence Prevention |
"Safe" Termination Policies When an employee is terminated, the feelings of anxiety and humiliation sometimes translate into violence against co-workers. Effective termination practices include planning in advance, so that there is no reason for the employee to return at a later time. Another wise practice is to be consistent in discipline policies.
Employees need to be treated the same when they break the same rules. Finally, be sure to have more than one witness on hand during the termination interview, and provide an escort to accompany the employee as they clear an office or locker and leave the building.
An evaluation of your company's safety practices is just one of the services we provide. Call our office if you have concerns about safety at your workplace.
